Seniors from Smith High’s International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs participated in three college exploration field trips during the month of October. This is the time of year when many students are visiting colleges and filling out applications.
On Oct. 14, students toured the campuses of Winston-Salem State University and Wake Forest University. On Oct. 19, the students visited UNC-Chapel Hill and N.C. State University. On Oct. 25 and 26, the students visited Williamsburg, Virginia and toured the campuses of the College of William and Mary and Hampton University.
Students learned on the tour that the best way to secure admission and scholarship money at highly selective colleges and universities is to enroll and excel in the most rigorous courses Smith offers.
