Based on feeder patterns, the Central Region features 39 schools in Jamestown, Greensboro and High Point. In creating the regional options, district staff considered the number of students included in each region and whether the regions would have comparable ethnic and socioeconomic student populations.
Dr. Terry Worrell, a long-time veteran of GCS and Guilford County native, will lead as the superintendent of the central region. Joining her as executive director is Tony Watlington, a former GCS principal and executive director of school support. David Zwadyk serves as the formative assessment coach for the central region, and Anthony Woodyard serves as the instructional technology coach. The student services administrator is Lise Timmons. Linda Helle and Ouida Milton provide office support for the central region.
